• The synthesis and modification methods of different types 2D nanomaterials are reviewed. Recent advances in for cancer treatment imaging systematically summarized. nanomaterial-based theranostics comprehensively outlook challenges biomedical applications discussed. Two-dimensional (2D) have drawn much attention by virtue their unique physicochemical properties numerous potential applications. Owing to large specific surface areas, can effectively load chemotherapeutic drugs chemotherapy, or combine with other therapeutic agents such as photosensitizers photodynamic therapy (PDT), immunomodulators immunotherapy, small interfering RNA gene therapy.
